This is a romantic story of lonely people in a small town in rural Maine, where everyone knows everyone but no one really knows anybody. Each scene in the play is a moment between two people finding one another and making a connection in the isolation, so I wanted to evoke both a closeness and a separation. I had the idea of ‘snow globe’ moments in a black void, where the location for each character’s scene would always be visible, but separate from one another.
